Hello, I am a Fine artist, with a BFA in Studio Painting, which means in modern translation; a concept artist, illustrator, comic book artist/penciler/ and inker. My influences are Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta, Neal Adams, and Brom to name a few as artist. My comic style is a hybrid between Manga and the Big two American style, DC and Marvel. Because I am an educated artist, I can do more than one style or medium.
I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Film-making as a Director, so this simply means I know cinematography and how to direct the camera for the page of a comic, giving a more cinematic look. So, yes I am a film-maker who produces Independent Films as well.
I am a story board artist in this regard, having been a film-maker.
I am also a screen writer, comic book writer, and novelist. I have two books published, "Tillian's War Journal" and "Tillian's War Journal II". Check them out on Amazon.com, Barns and Nobles.com, Exlibris.co, and other book stores.
"Tillian's War Journal", is a space fantasy about a boy who rises to avenge his families death and the destruction of his galaxy through the forces of good.
The second book, "Tillian's War Journal II", is a behind the scenes look at the original concept art created before the first novel was ever written. This book showcases the ideas and concepts I had in mind for the book. Once I was finished with the art, I wrote a story about the adventure in a novel, which has illustrations it self. Enjoy!
I am currently writing and illustrating a comic that I will self publish, "Brattix, Secrets of the Mind". It will be a black and white comic in the vein of Frank Miller and retro Independent style comics. In fact, it's already written; I'm in the illustration process as we speak. "Brattix" will have an impressionistic feel to it, since the character is in a dream world trying to find his way home back to his real reality, the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. Look out for it, Cheers!
I'm also working on screen plays for feature length films.
Check out my Art web site www.visualqwest.com for a more in-depth look at m books and Art. Enjoy!
In a nut shell, I am a well rounded artist ready to accomplish just about anything one can throw at me. The challenge is finding the project that sparks my eye.
